Dense and powerful red with classic (for the Gimblett Gravels region of Hawke’s Bay) cracked black pepper and bright berry flavours. There’s also a suggestion of spice, possibly annise, and a solid oaky overcoat. The wine has a wonderfully long and complex finish with layers of red and black fruits plus oriental spices.
