Sacred Hill Deerstalkers Hawke's Bay NZ Syrah 2006

4 Star Rating
90/100 45
This dense, oaky wine was made from grapes grown in Sacred Hill’s Gimblett Gravels vineyard. The fruit was hand-picked and carefully selected before fermentation and 12 months maturation in French oak barriques. It’s a big and richly-textured wine with strong dark berry flavours and equally strong chocolate/mocha oak character. Although accessible now the wine clearly has a considerable amount of cellaring potential ahead of it.
