83/100 35
Light, fresh wine with pure pear drop, mineral and jasmine flavours. Pretty, delicate wine in a dry-ish style with sweetness coming from alcohol and low acidity rather than residual sugar which is less than 1 g/l. The high-ish alcohol of 14.4% upsets the balance slightly. Seductive wine with surprising power. From vines in Rockburn’s own Parkburn vineyard in the Cromwell basin. Cool fermented to retain fruit intensity with high solids juice adding extra weight and spiciness.
