5 Star Rating

Dense, ripe red with masses of blackberry, cassis, plum, liquorice, anise and spicy oak flavours. Perhaps it’s a function of vine age - this is one of the Gimblett Gravels’ oldest vineyards - but the wine appears to be more dense than others from the area in 2005 and there are no signs that it is over-extracted. A very appealing and sensuous red that, though fairly simple and accessible now, will deliver much more with bottle age.
