Dense, deep red with appealing sweet berry fruit and savoury flavours that suggest crushed wild blackberry, blackcurrant jam and cedar. I was absolutely stunned to see that the wine was from Marlborough (less so to see it was from Herzog) which reveals my prejudice against Bordeaux reds from that region. Superb, complex and very appealing wine. Long.
