Forrest Estate John Forrest Collection Hawke's Bay NZ Syrah 2007

4 Star Rating
85/100 45
Less intense and complex that the wine from the previous vintage under this label. It shows a greater influence of floral aromas with white as well as black pepper, indicating lower physiological ripeness. Supple, fruity Syrah with berry, plum, spice and bitter chocolate flavours. The wine needs time to mellow and gain flavour integration. This was a prerelease sample that perhaps suffers from the premature review. Made from grapes grown in the Gimblett Gravels area of Hawke’s Bay.
