The usual criticsm for this incredibly dense wine is “it’s a very impressive red, but it’s not Pinot Noir”. I believe that time will restore any appearant loss of varietal integrity. Furthermore I’ve put my money where my mouth is by investing in several vintages inclduing the impressive 2003. My notes read “ripe, classy and complex - accessible despite its impressive dimensions”. This is not a fruit bomb, its a time bomb.
