Fresh and vibrant Syrah that’s bursting with energy. Elegant rather than full-bodied with lower alcohol (13.5% vol.) than many perhaps because its a blend of Gimblett Gravels fruit with grapes from Church Road’s Redstone vineyard. The flavour profile includes a strong floral/violet and white pepper influence suggesting slightly cooler grown or earlier-picked fruit. It’s beautifully supple and has a distinctive style that contrasts markedly with Syrah that’s 100% Gimblett Gravels. The wine earned a well-deserved trophy at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
