Chard Farm Mata-Au Central Otago NZ Pinot Noir 2009

5 Star Rating
93/100 55
A brand new label from Chard Farm that sits below their single vineyard estate wines and above the labels that include a blend of grower fruit. Mata-Au (the Maori name for the Clutha River) is a blend of fruit from Chard Farm’s four estate vineyards. New oak has been reduced to just 20% to boost flavour purity. Elegant Pinot Noir with appealing purity and subtle power. Red and black cherry with a suggestion of spice supported by nutty oak. Surprising length of flavour. Linear, accessible wine.
