A rather austere Central Otago Chardonnay showing a strong mineral influence with muted citrus and tree fruit flavours and plenty of oak yeast lees characters. While it does show potential to develop the wine is rather closed and slightly hard right now (I thought that the palate hardness may have been alcohol-derived but note the alcohol is shown as 13.5%).
