Blind River makes serious Sauvignon Blanc (and Pinot Noir) from its own vineyard in the Awatere Valley. 10% of the wine is fermented in French oak barriques using indigenous yeasts although evidence of oak in the final wine is subliminal. Concentrated Sauvignon Blanc that’s pure, fresh and pungently aromatic. Delicate, lifted capsicum, gooseberry and pretty nettle characters dance on the palate and linger tantalisingly. An ethereal texture adds to the wine’s appeal, promoting drinkability. This wine is a delight to drink.
