Terrific wine in a classic Central Otago “fruit bomb” style with masses of dark cherry, plum and chocolate flavours plus a seasoning of spice and nutty oak. An “easy to love” style with a drop dead silken texture and lingering fruity finish. I marginally prefer this to the more exalted (and more expensive) Reserve label although the latter might well look better in a couple of years. This is perhaps the best of a string of winning wines from a great Bannockburn vineyard.
